The Brazilian cuisine is the result of a mixture of European ingredients, Indians, and Africans. The Basic meal consists of rice, beans and meat. The internationally most representative dish of the country is Feijoada. Eating habits vary from region to region. In the northeast there is a strong African influence in cooking, especially acarajé, Vatapá, and pepper sauce. In the north there is the Indian Influence in the use of cassava and fish. In the Southeast the are several dishes like beans and Polenta, In Minas Gerais,and Sao Paulo, the pizza. In the south there is strong influence of Italian Cuisine, in dishes such as polenta and also of German cuisine. The barbecue is typical of Rio Grande Do Sul.
